Lesley duTemple to Speak About Her Writing Tuesday, Feb. 1, 4:15 p.m.

HANCOCK, MI - Children's author Lesley duTemple will speak about her writing Tuesday, February 1, 2011, 4:15 to 5:30 p.m., at the Finlandia University Chapel of St. Matthew, Hancock.

duTemple will speak about the role of location in her books in a lecture titled, "Tigers in Your Living Room: Natural History Writing for Children."

An award winning author of more than two dozen children's books, duTemple's work ranges from pre-school (One Little Balsam Fir) through high school reading level (The Complete Idiot's Guide to Life Science).

The duTemple lecture is the second in a series of nine weekly author presentations, collectively titled, "Writers on Location." It is presented by the Finlandia University English Department and Hancock Central High School.

Other authors in the series are Erik Koskinen and Mike La Beau (singing and songwriting), Jimalee Jones (sermon writing), Randy Freisinger (poetry), John Gagnon and Suzanne Van Dam (profiles), Laura Smyth (publishing and poetry), and Glenn Puit (true crime). The series concludes April 5 with student flash readings.
