Saturday Morning Fitness Classes at Paavo Nurmi Center

HANCOCK, MI - Have you made a New Year's resolution to get fit?  Here's a great opportunity to get started!

Saturday morning fitness classes at Finlandia University will resume Saturday, January 7, 2012, and continue weekly until further notice. The classes meet in the Paavo Nurmi Center gymnasium, Hancock. All fitness levels are welcome.

A "Cardio Blast" class meets from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. The cardio workout uses step, hi-lo floor aerobics, and/or kickboxing, with a strength and conditioning segment. The class is instructed by Deb Faust.

A "Zumba" dance fitness class meets from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The class incorporates cardio fitness, resistance training, and stretching to the accompaniment of Latin, pop, and world music. The instructor is Emily Svenson.

The cost of each fitness class is $5 per session; a 10-session punch card is $40.

For Finlandia students, the fitness classes are $3 per session; a 10-session punch card is $20.

Pre-registration is not required. Punch cards can be used for both fitness classes, and they can be purchased anytime at the Paavo Nurmi Center.
