Wellness Symposium is Friday, February 11, 12 to 4:30 p.m.
HANCOCK, MI - Community members are invited to treat themselves to a day of healthy indulgence Friday, February 11, 12:00 to 4:30 p.m., at the Finlandia University Finnish American Heritage Center, Hancock. Admission is free.
The annual Health and Wellness Symposium is hosted by students in the study abroad course Finlandia Connection. Proceeds from donations will help support a spring 2011 educational trip to Helsinki, Finland.
Local physicians and wellness experts will present informative talks throughout the day. Topics include oncology, colon cancer, chiropractic care, energy and wellness, and perfectionism and workaholism.
Other Wellness Symposium activities include spinal thermography, massage therapy, hand and face treatments, proper bra sizing, Chinese medicine, blood pressure monitoring, and blood glucose checks. Some services require a fee or donation.
The Western Upper Peninsula District Health Department will provide information about their services.
Throughout the day, a variety of wellness products will be available for purchase and order.
