Lynn Gaunt Is Newest Finlandia Enrollment Officer

Lynn (Barrette) Gaunt has recently been hired as an enrollment officer in the Office of Admissions at Finlandia University. Her job responsibilities include recruiting students and helping them complete the admissions process.

Lynn was born and raised in the Copper Country and is a graduate of Dollar Bay High School. In 1993 she was awarded a bachelor of science in sociology/social studies from Northern Michigan University.

Lynn taught at North Central Elementary, Hermansville, Mich., from 2001-2003, and at Hancock Elementary from 1998 to 2000. From 1993 to 1995 she worked as a substitute teacher in Copper Country schools.

During the 2000-2001 academic year, Lynn was an admissions representative for Sienna Heights University, Adrian, Mich. She says she enjoys helping students and their families with the important college decision.

In her spare time, Lynn enjoys biking, crossword puzzles, traveling, walking, swimming, and spending time with her young children, Maggie and Joshua. In 2009 Gaunt competed in the ten-mile Canal Walk, walking from McLain State Park to downtown Hancock. She plans to compete in the Canal Walk this year, as well.
