"Rejection in the Reflection" Show April 11-25 at Reflection Gallery
April 10, 2009
The Finlandia University Reflection Gallery will feature an exhibit of "rejected" student-artist work April 11 to 25, 2009.
The annual "Rejection in the Reflection" exhibit includes student artwork not selected for the recent International School of Art & Design juried student exhibit.
An opening reception for the exhibit will take place at the Reflection Gallery Wednesday, April 15, from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m. Several student-artists will be on hand to answer questions about the pieces in the show. Refreshments will be served.
The "Rejection in the Reflection" exhibit is the first opportunity for many student-artists to publicly display their work. The work in the exhibit is available for purchase.
"Each year Finlandia University holds a juried student art exhibition, and each year there are many excellent pieces that are not selected to show," says gallery director J. DeMers, a sophomore-level art and design student.
"Most of the student pieces will be priced to sell," DeMers adds. "The Reflection Gallery invites the community to take advantage of this great opportunity to purchase student work and support the gallery."
The Reflection Gallery is on the second level of the Finlandia University Jutila Center campus at 200 Michigan Street, Hancock. For additional information, please contact Yueh-mei Cheng, associate professor of studio art, at 906-487-7375.
