Finlandia Curling Club looking for your support in fundraising

The Finlandia University Curling Club is looking for your support during a campaign to raise more than $300 through the website pearup.com. Simply visit the organization's pearup page, sign up for an account and become a click sponsor.

"Costs for our club are not small," said Soren Schmidt, Finlandia's campus pastor and curling club advisor. "This is a simple way to show support for our club."

Annual costs for the club include USCA Curling dues, Copper Country Curling Club dues, uniforms, equipment and the costs associated with traveling to, and participating in, curling events.

The club was founded in 2011, and includes between 8 and 20 students each year. The club finished No. 5 in nationals this past year, and No. 7 in nationals the year before, including upsetting the No. 1 team in the nation. This despite Finlandia being the smallest school on all of these rankings. Many of the schools the club competes with are Division I schools.

The curling club is also interested in sponsors for the 2014-15 season, download the sponsorship form.
