Amber Letourneau Weber Joins Finlandia Nursing Faculty
HANCOCK, MI - Amber Letourneau Weber, B.S.N., R.N., has begun her second academic year at Finlandia University as an assistant professor of nursing. Weber taught nursing courses as a visiting faculty member last year.
This December, Weber will complete a master's of science in nursing education through Walden University. She has a bachelor of science in nursing from Northern Michigan University, Marquette.
For Finlandia's College of Health Sciences, Weber will teach a number of upper-level Nursing program courses and labs, including Maternal/Newborn Nursing, Acute and Urgent Clinical Nursing, and Diagnosis/Therapeutics.
As an educator, Weber strives for excellence in both her teaching and for her students. "In the classroom and in clinical settings, as the meaning of theoretical concepts are explored, I engage students in critical thinking, support interactive learning, and promote accountability to encourage their professional growth and learning."
"Each student deserves an education tailored to his or her strengths and needs," Weber adds. "As my teaching styles change to accommodate student-centered learning, I will continue to develop myself as a knowledgeable, compassionate, and attentive educator."
Weber's employment experience includes work as a registered nurse at hospitals in Michigan, Washington, and California. Her clinical focus is on neonatal intensive-care nursing, maternal and newborn nursing, and pediatric intensive-care nursing.
Weber was has lived in Marquette, Mich., and Seattle, Wash. She and her husband, Justin Weber, live in Dollar Bay. They were married August 27, 2011. They enjoy mountain biking, skiing, fishing, camping, backpacking, hiking, running, snowshoeing, and traveling.
