"Princessa" Is October Nordic Film
HANCOCK, MI - The Finlandia University Finnish American Heritage Center will present two showings of the 2010 Finnish film "Prinsessa" on October 10, at 2:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.
The film, part of the Heritage Center's monthly Nordic Film Series, is free and open to the public.
Based on a true story, "Princessa" follows Anna as she enters a mental hospital in 1940s Finland and quickly assumes the identity of a royal princess separated from her true family at birth. With her fellow patients, Prinsessa constructs an imagined life that is more bearable than the alternative.
The film is in the Finnish language with English subtitles.
