Bachelor of Science in Nursing
The BSN degree requires successful completion of 126 credit hours generally taken over a 4-year period. The program requires the completion of 56 general education credits and 70 nursing credits.
Students requiring the completion of any remedial courses can expect to complete the course sequence over a 5-year time period. The degree requirements remain consistent with the university.
Nursing courses contain designated credits for theory (classroom-based activities) and clinical (lab- and clinical-based activities). Each course credit assignment is further divided into theory/clinical credits. Contact hours are calculated using a 1:1 ratio for theory credits and a 3:1 ratio for clinical. Students are asked to take the contact hours into consideration when planning family, work, and personal obligations.
