Colleen LaLonde is New Health Sciences Nursing Instructor
HANCOCK, MI - The Finlandia University College of Health Sciences welcomes instructor of nursing Colleen Carlton LaLonde to its faculty roster this fall.
LaLonde is teaching Fundamentals of Nursing 204 and 205.
"A nursing career blesses one with life-long learning and variety," LaLonde remarks. "Every day presents unique challenges to help others, often in times of their greatest need. I'm looking forward to sharing the many gifts of nursing with Finlandia students as I continue my own nursing journey."
LaLonde has a bachelor of science in nursing from Northern Michigan University and she has completed graduate-level studies at University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. She is pursuing a master's of science in nursing education online through Western Governors University.
She has worked as an emergency room and intensive care unit nurse at Aspirus Keweenaw Hospital, Laurium, and as a CNA (certified nurse assistant) instructor and an adjunct clinical instructor for Gogebic Community College.
After graduating from NMU, she had many nursing experiences across the country before returning to the Upper Peninsula in 1997 to live in Marquette. She relocated to the Copper Country in 2001. She lives in Tapiola with her husband, Randy LaLonde, who teaches criminal justice courses at Finlandia.
