ISB Faculty: Steering a Course for the Future

ISB Faculty and StaffFinlandia's International School of Business (ISB) is on an upward trajectory, thanks to its multi-talented faculty and the leadership of its dean, Dr. Terry Monson. The academic year 2010-11 saw much-needed changes to the curriculum and an uptick in student enrollment from 56 to 89.  Fall 2012 enrollment increased to 94. TOP OF PAGE

Changes that injected dynamism to the ISB include:

  • Re-introduction of the "2+2" program, offering associates' degree graduates an opportunity to earn the BBA,
  • Development of a BBA in Healthcare Management (in conjunction with the College of Health Sciences),
  • Introduction of an Arts Management concentration in the BBA program (in conjunction with the ISAD - the International School of Art and Design),
  • Addition of business minors (entrepreneurship, management, marketing, sports management) to give other Finlandia majors exposure to business,
  • A restructured BBA curriculum appropriate for a liberal arts university,
  • A new focus projecting the ISB front and center in the community through special projects in courses that have an interactive function with the community.
  • Cooperation with the ISAD to establish the FUEL (Finlandia University Experiential Learning) Studio, which provides hands-on experience for ISAD, ISB, and other Finlandia students in developing inventory, managing, and operating a retail establishment.
