Position Summary: Finlandia University seeks a qualified and dynamic individual to establish and lead a new DIII football program for our campus and community. The Head Football Coach must demonstrate strong communication and organizational skills and must be able to work effectively with staff, faculty, and other members of Finlandia’s community and constituents of the Upper Peninsula. As a team player within the athletics department, the Head Football Coach will foster student personal growth and development as well academic and athletic achievement. The Head Football Coach’s primary emphasis for the position is recruitment and retention of qualified student-athletes, and the administration of a competitive NCAA Division III football program while adhering to all NCAA and/or conference rules for the sport of football.

Position Summary: The Head Coach is responsible for the development and implementation of a successful intercollegiate men’s ice hockey program by fulfilling specific job responsibilities in the intercollegiate athletic department. The Head Coach is expected to work as a team-player with primary responsibilities of coordinating all aspects of our men’s hockey program and adhering to all NCAA and MCHA rules for the sport of hockey. The Head Coach should foster student personal growth and development as well academic and athletic achievement. The Head Coach is viewed as a mentor and advocate of equity and diversity within the athletic department.

Position Summary: Resident Assistant (RA) is responsible for the overall care, safety, and well-being of all of the participants in the summer program, with special attention to those students assigned to your core group. The number of students assigned to an RA will vary between four and seven, depending on the number of students attending. The program employs both male and female RA’s to adequately serve the gender-diverse program participants.

Position Description: Director for TRiO Student Support Services

Position Summary: The Director of TRiO/SSS administers and manages a federally-funded educational opportunity program that annually serves 180 low-income, first generation, and/or disabled students in the areas of academic support, career guidance, personal counseling, and financial aid assistance. The Director supervises a professional staff of four. The next U.S. Department of Education grant proposal is due in summer 2015. The Director manages the program's annual budget of $271,609. The Director ensures compliance with DOE regulations for program operation through documentation of contact with program students, conducting program evaluations, executing sound fiscal management, and generating annual performance reports. In collaboration with TRiO SSS staff, the Director recruits, counsels, and advises student participants. The Director is the primary TRiO SSS contact for faculty and staff who collaborate with the program on behalf of the targeted student populations.
