Finlandia's intercollegiate athletics programs encourage personal growth, academic success, and the development of athletic skills. Finlandia University does not offer athletic scholarships.

The Finlandia Lions compete as an independent institution in: Men'sand Women's Basketball, Cross Country, and Golf; Women's Soccer, Softball, and Volleyball; and Men's Baseball.

Winter: Women's and Men's Basketball and Hockey

The Numbers: Finlandia Student­ Athletes

GPA. The average GPA of Finlandia student­athletes (3.027) is typically higher than that of the general student population (2.92). (Spring 2010)

Enrollment Growth. When strategic athletic program additions are complete, it is projected that Finlandia's student­athlete population will increase 85% (from 178 in fall 2010 to about 330). Further, in thesame period the ratio of student­athletes to the general student population is expected to increase from 30% to 40%.

Recruitment Reach. In fall 2010, 58% of all student­athletes were from outside of Finlandia's five­-countycore market, confirming the value of athletic programs for successful out­of­area student recruitment.
