Q: What is Finlandia Four?

A: Finlandia Four is our commitment to students at Finlandia University to help in identifying the cost of their education as they plan and anticipate attending and graduating from Finlandia.

Our Finlandia Four commitment means you are guaranteed the cost of tuition while our students are continuously enrolled for eight consecutive semesters (Fall & Spring) while obtaining a baccalaureate degree or four consecutive semesters while obtaining an associate degree.

Q: What is the basic criteria of Finlandia Four?

  • Starting with your first semester (after Fall 2014), tuition stays the same for incoming students first enrolling to the University.
  • Students need to be continuously enrolled full time for both the Fall and Spring semesters.
  • Finlandia Four is a tuition guarantee for up to four academic years for students seeking a four-year degree and up to two academic years for students seeking a two-year degree.
  • Applies to all: In-state, out-of state and international students.

Q: Can I lose the Finlandia Four?

A: Yes. If a student leaves the university anytime during the course of their Finlandia Four plan, then choose to return to Finlandia, the student will enter the university at the current tuition rate offered to new students.

Q: As a transfer, student can I receive Finlandia Four?

A: Yes! As you transfer your credits to Finlandia, an anticipated graduation date based on your program and transferred credits will be established. It will be for this period of time the tuition rate you come in at, will be what you pay through your expected graduation date.

Q: What is Finlandia Future?

A: Finlandia Future is our commitment to reward students continuously enrolled for eight consecutive semesters and graduating with a baccalaureate degree.

Q: How does it work?

A: If you enroll for eight consecutive semesters (Fall and Spring), and graduate with a baccalaureate degree - you pay for 7 semesters, the eighth is free! This does not cover room/board for the eighth semester.

Q: I am a current student. Do these initiatives work for me?

A: The answer is yes, and no.

Yes, Finlandia Four applies to you as well! Your tuition for your next semester will be the price you pay until your expected graduation date.

No, the Finlandia Future will only apply to incoming freshmen beginning in the fall of 2014.

Q: What is Finlandia Friends?

A: The Finlandia Friends Award intends to grow Finlandia’s learning community with academically successful, socially responsible, and community engaged students. It achieves this by more intentionally engaging Finlandia’s most effective recruiters: its students. Enrolled students may be eligible to receive up to $1,000 in tuition credit for each Finlandia friend.

Q: What is the basic criteria of Finlandia Friends?

  • New/referred students must be new prospect/new applicant, and accepted on regular admission status. The new/referred student must indicate the current/referring student’s name on their application on the application questionnaire.
  • The referring/current student must be in good academic and student-conduct standing.
  • The Finlandia Friends Award is specific to tuition/fees only and is a one-time non-renewable award.
  • Hancock Award students and readmit status students may not apply.
  • Both students must be full time status (12+ credits) each semester.

Q: Can I refer more than one person?

A: Absolutely! Your experience here is something you're passionate about, and we hope you feel strongly about it when you talk to any of your friends or family members. The only rule we have is that your award cannot exceed the cost of your tuition balance.

Q: Can I combine these initiatives?

A: Absolutely! Combining Finlandia Four, Finlandia Future and Finlandia Friends could save you thousands of dollars over the course of your time at Finlandia University.

Q: What if I am less than a full time student?

A: You will want to enroll full-time to experience the benefits of these initiatives!
