Visiting artist Tia Keo dropped by Finlandia Fridays this week to talk about her work in the 28th Annual Finnish Contemporary Artist Series. Keo’s father David Salmela was the 16th artist in the series, making it the first time two family members have been showcased in the series.

Finnish Independence Day program to honor George H.W. Bush

In honor of the late President George H.W. Bush, the Finnish Independence Day program at Finlandia University’s Finnish American Heritage Center will include a special musical performance, accompanied by a color guard presentation.

Vocalist Mark Oliver, a veteran himself, will sing “The Navy Hymn,” while the Houghton-Hancock Junior ROTC program presents the colors, as part of the Independence Day celebration, which begins at 6 p.m. on Thursday, December 6.

Microsoft manager speaks about remote working and change management

Late Night Breakfast is back this Sunday

On Sunday night the longstanding tradition of Late Night Breakfast will continue, and will once again include a little help from students’ friends in TRIO Student Support Services as Tutoring will be available in Finlandia Hall prior to breakfast. This event is free and all students are encouraged to attend. Staff from all over Finlandia’s campus will be on hand to serve breakfast, while TRIO SSS staff will be available for tutoring.
