Finlandia University’s International School of Art & Design is renowned for its incredibly facilities, ability to bring in professional artists and focus on the Finnish model of education. It’s also quickly becoming known for having an amazing ceramics program under the lead of emerging artist Kenyon Hansen.

Popular web comic Spidersilk looking to print volume 1
Finlandia University alum Pamela Kotila is looking for support for her Kickstarter campaign “Spidersilk Comic Volume 1.” The campaign is looking to raise a total of $2,600 by the end March 2.
“I’ve been publishing Spidersilk online for more than four years, and am now working to get it into print,” said Kotila, a 2010 graduate of Finlandia University’s International School of Art & Design.
Finlandia University’s two art galleries join many other Copper Country-area art galleries as part of an active artisitc and cultural community.
The Finlandia University Gallery, located in the Finnish American Heritage Center, hosts changing, year-round exhibits of Finnish, Finnish-American, and local and regional artists.
The Finlandia Reflection Gallery, located on the second level of the Jutila Center campus, is a student-run art gallery featuring not only student work, but the work of local and regional artists.
Finlandia University’s International School of Art and Design (ISAD) balances experiences in critical thinking and creative insight with a strong foundation in liberal studies. We emphasize the convergence of technical skill and conceptual innovation.
The program prepares graduates for emerging opportunities in both professional practice and graduate studies, by providing foundations in entrepreneurship, sustainability, and business practices in art and design.

10 students inducted during formal installation of program Monday
Monday night 10 Finlandia University students were inducted as charter members of the Finlandia University chapter of Alpha Lambda Delta (ALD) during the school’s formal installation of the new program.
Joining students, faculty and staff from Finlandia at the installation was ALD National President Dr. Susan Huffman. Huffman, who works at Purdue University, presided over the ceremony.
