Volunteers Needed for Mobile Food Pantry Nov. 5

On Thursday, November 5, Finlandia University will be hosting a Mobile Food Pantry in the parking lot between Old Main and the Chapel of St. Mattew. Alpha Lambda Delta Chapter Celebrates Fifth Anniversary

This year, Finlandia’s Alpha Lambda Delta (ALD) chapter celebrates its fifth anniversary. The ALD is a National Honor Society for First-Year Success and to become a member, students must earn a 3.5 GPA or higher in their first semester at Finlandia.

Finlandia Competes with other U.P. Universities in ‘Fight the Flu’ Challenge

In an effort to further protect our campus communities throughout the region, the Center for Rural Health at Northern Michigan University is bringing universities throughout the U.P. together to “Fight the Flu”. Students, staff and faculty from Finlandia University, Lake Superior State University, Michigan Technological University and Northern Michigan University are competing to see which school can get the highest percentage of its total population vaccinated against the flu.

Annual Flu Shot Clinic for Employees, Students On Oct. 12

All students and employees are invited to the annual Finlandia University Flu Shot Clinic on Monday, October 12 from 3 to 5 p.m. in Nikander 14A.

This event brings flu shots to campus in a joint effort between Finlandia nursing students, the Finlandia Wellness Committee and the UP Health System Portage. On September 22, 2020, Americans will celebrate National Voter Registration Day with a massive cross-country effort to register voters well in advance of Election Day this November.

Students: Don’t Forget to Complete Your Census by Sept. 30

Whether you live on campus or at home with family, you need to be counted for the 2020 Census. You should count yourself where you live and sleep most of the time. For a vast majority of Finlandia students, this is in Hancock, MI. Relatives you stay with during breaks should not count you in their census questionnaire.
