New Student Orientation Goes Virtual

Finlandia is excited to deliver our New Student Orientation (NSO) content in a self-paced, online platform this year. Students will complete four modules in Canvas that will feature videos and quizzes. FinnU TRIO SSS Grant Renewed for $1.7M Over 5 Years

 The U.S. Department of Education announced that Finlandia University’s TRIO Student Support Services (SSS) grant program will be renewed for $1,705,835 over five years to help more students succeed in and graduate from college. FinnU’s TRIO SSS program has been providing services on campus for almost 30 years and assists 180 students annually.

Finlandia Prepares for Fall 2020

Students are making their way back to Finlandia’s campus for the Fall 2020 semester. As the university prepares to welcome approximately 400 students, new protocols and practices are being enforced to help mitigate the spread of Covid-19 on campus and in the Keweenaw community.

Finlandia is excited to launch its new Fall 2020 web pages just in time for the new semester. Students, employees and community members can conveniently find information as it pertains to their group on the new pages. All students required to complete Daily Covid-19 Symptom Tracker beginning Aug. 6

In an effort to keep the campus community safe, all Finlandia University students will be required to complete the Daily Covid-19 Symptom Tracker Survey beginning August 6. The survey will be emailed to all students daily at midnight and takes approximately 1 minute to complete. Brandon Bell Hired as New Director of Campus Safety & Security

Brandon Bell joined Finlandia University’s Campus Safety and Security this past February as the new director. He will be joining the Finlandia staff with 13 years of service with the United States Air Force. His most recent position includes supporting the MQ-9 Reaper Remotely Piloted Aircraft as a meteorologist for the Arizona Air National Guard.

Registration for Summer & Fall 2020 Now Open to All Current Students

Registration for fall and summer classes is now underway for all students. Students must communicate with their academic advisor to receive their PIN. This number has been refreshed and is different from the one you would have used to sign up last semester. Applications Now Being Accepted for Virginia Fund Scholarship

Applications are now being accepted for the Virginia Fund Scholarship, which is open to all freshman women at Finlandia University. The scholarship, typically $250-500 is awarded based on academic achievement and contribution to campus life. Applications will be reviewed by the Academic Achievement Committee and the winner will be announced at the Honors and Awards Banquet on Friday, April 17.  The Virginia Fund Scholarship will be applied to the 2020-21 academic year.
