Registration for summer and fall now open for all students

Registration for fall and summer classes is now underway for all students. Your first step is to see your academic advisor to get your PIN.  This will allow you to sign up for classes online. In addition, you will need to clear any holds that may be on your account (billing, financial aid, admissions, etc.).

Studying the Biology Degree with Assistant Professor Dr. Emily Geiger

Assistant Professor of Biochemistry Dr. Emily Geiger stopped by Finlandia Fridays this week to talk about the biology degree offered at FinnU. This is Dr. Geiger’s second year of teaching at Finlandia. Upon her arrival, both science labs had been newly renovated, thanks to Portage Health System. With the renovations, Dr. Geiger mentioned that students now have their own individual work spaces, and more classes can be offered, like organic chemistry, due to the upgraded equipment.

Finlandia Fridays dove into the criminal justice program this week with Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice Dr. Richard Gee. “The criminal justice program at Finlandia is unique in that we we don’t do any of the stuff that you would get at a police academy or a corrections academy. 101 students recognized on Fall 2017 Dean’s and Honors List

Finlandia University is proud to announce its Fall 2017 semester Dean’s and Honors List Students. In total 101 students earned a recognition, including 60 who earned a spot on the Dean’s List for having a Grade Point Average of 3.75 or above.

To be eligible for either list students must have completed 12 or more credits and had no grade below a “C.” Dean’s List students earned a GPA of 3.75 or above, while Honors List students had a GPA between [...]

Dr. Carolyn Dekker featured in Lake Superior-region journal

Library of Congress makes Dr. Virtanen’s speech available

In October Assistant Professor of Finnish and Nordic Studies Dr. Hilary-Joy Virtanen was welcomed to Washington D.C. to be one of three panelists at the Library of Congress for an Embassy of Finland symposium exploring the history and future of the Finnish language. This week Finlandia Fridays was visited be senior communication major Travis Cornwell. Originally from Minnesota, Cornwell stated “Finlandia kind of found me. I was in Vegas at a showcase for hockey, and they were one of the last schools to look at me, so I decided to give them a chance. Assistant professor of Finnish and Nordic studies, Dr. Hilary Virtanen dropped by Finlandia Fridays this past week to talk about her busy semester.
